Good morning!!

I love going to the market to buy little things!!

It's true that not everything here is seasonal, local, or organic, but as I've already mentioned, I do my best to maintain those standards. But I also won't let Carmo and Trindade (I don't even know who these people are or why we say this… but I think it's appropriate… ) bring some exceptional things, like some mushrooms (for pizza) or an avocado (I'm always criticizing the plantations here in the Algarve ). But it's also one, once in a while… because I don't eat every day, and if possible from a family orchard, instead of the silly expanses of avocado trees that are everywhere… when the Algarve has so little water… but peaches, apricots, and plums are already there…

Oh, and see if you spot a friend who came with me that must be a good sign?!? The watercress will most likely be to the standards we like, for eating… right??

I'm going to start making lunch… these cuttlefish are just begging to be grilled!!
